A warm and dry day was a perfect ending for the volunteer's year.
Birdham pond was the venue for our Christmas gathering.
First things first-there was bramble to clear to allow more light for other plants to grow. This also increases a variety of plant species for the water vole to feed on in Spring and Summer. One of our volunteers received an early Christmas present as a water vole showed itself briefly today!
We broke for Christmas cheer and Jane Reeve put on an amazing festive spread. We were serenaded by several robins, eager to share the food!
Thank you to all our amazing volunteers and look forward to meeting up again in 2022!
Stay safe and have a great Christmas!!!
