FLOW Activity: West Wittering Habitat Improvement Work

December 4, 2019 @ 9:30 am - 3:30 pm

The Project

FLOW (Fixing and Linking Our Wetlands) is a Heritage Lottery Funded Project to survey and improve the ditch network of the Manhood Peninsula, to prevent flooding and increase vital habitat for wildlife. FLOW works in the following parishes: Apuldram, Donnington, Earnley, East Wittering, Bracklesham, Hunston, North Mundham, Selsey, Sidlesham, West Wittering, West Itchenor and Birdham.

We are going to be continuing the improvement work on this lovely piece of wetland with vegetation clearance, bramble cutting, light coppicing of small whips and dead tree removal.

For conservation activities, we will provide tools and refreshments, but if you would like to bring your own gloves or tools then please do.

Cakeham Manor Estate and West Wittering Estate wetland areas. We will be meeting at the site (pinned on the map). Parking is in Pound Road, PO20 8AJ or The Wad, PO20 8AH, but is limited so where possible, please car share. Public toilets available 5-minute walk away
