FLOW Activity: Pond Restoration in East Wittering
November 8, 2019 @ 9:30 am - 3:30 pm
FLOW (Fixing and Linking Our Wetlands) is a Heritage Lottery Funded Project to survey and improve the ditch network of the Manhood Peninsula, to prevent flooding and increase vital habitat for wildlife. FLOW works in the following parishes: Apuldram, Donnington, Earnley, East Wittering, Bracklesham, Hunston, North Mundham, Selsey, Sidlesham, West Wittering, West Itchenor and Birdham.
Volunteers will be working with the FLOW team to improve a relic pond and trim back some willow to allow light on to the pond.
We will be working from 9.30 am until 3.30 pm, but any time you can give would be appreciated.
For conservation activities, we will provide tools and refreshments, but if you would like to bring your own gloves or tools then please do.
Please note that outdoor activities are subject to change, due to weather conditions and unforeseen circumstances. Subscribed volunteers who have RSVP’d to an event, via our emails, will be notified of relevant changes or cancellations, by the organiser[*].
The pond is in Church Farm Lane, East Wittering PO20 8RL with parking in the road.
